Metro station Belorusskaya ( circle line ) in Moscow, Russia opened in 1952, is renowned for its elegant architecture and decorations celebrating the culture of Belarus. Overhead, twelve octagonal mosaics depict scenes of Belarusian daily life, while the platform floor is intricately tiled to resemble a traditional Belarusian quilt. Belorusskaya is regarded as one of the Moscow Metro’s finest examples of post-war Stalinist architecture.
