Metro station Krasnye Vorota in Moscow, Russia opened in 1935, as one of the original ten stations of the Moscow Metro. Its elegant interior is distinguished by dark red Shrosha marble from Georgia, reflecting the refined architectural style of the network’s earliest years. In 1937, the station was awarded the Grand Prix at the Paris World’s Exhibition for its outstanding design. Krasnye Vorota also became the first station in the Moscow Metro to install an automatic turnstile in 1952, marking an important milestone in the history of the system.
