Metro station Taganskaya in Moscow, Russia opened in 1950, and reflects the post-war flamboyance of Stalinist architecture with traditional Russian decorative motifs. The station is best known for its 48 blue and monochrome majolica panels adorning the pylons, while gilded chandeliers illuminate the central hall. Cream-colored ceramic tiles, light marble, and a black-and-gray granite checkerboard floor complete one of the Moscow Metro’s most distinctive interiors.
