Metro station Baumanskaya in Moscow, Russia opened in 1944, is one of the most impressive examples of Art Deco architecture in the Moscow Metro. The station is distinguished by elegant white marble pylons with bronze sculptures placed between each arch, creating one of the network’s most recognizable interiors. At the end of the platform is a mosaic portrait of Vladimir Lenin. The original escalator, which remained in continuous operation for more than 70 years before being replaced in 2015.
